CHELMSFORD Cathedral will play host to a concert by a prestigious London orchestra and special guests.

The Belmont Ensemble of London will bring their unique performance of classical music to the cathedral in New Street, Chelmsford, on Saturday, September 5.

Special guests include Helen Davies and Pippa Harris on violin, the English Chamber Choir and conductor Peter Dyson.

The orchestra will tackle impressive pieces such as Le Quattro Stagoni (The Four Seasons) and Concerto for two Violins, Number Eight in A Minor, both by Vivaldi, and Air on the G String by Bach.

Handel’s Arrival of Queen Sheba, from Solomon, Bach’s Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring, and Lobet den Herrn, Alle Heiden, will also be played during the concert.

Tickets are by donation (suggested donation £20 to the Essex Clergy Charity) and include interval wine and canapes.
