YOUNG dancers are celebrating after their school was recognised as the best in Essex.

Fusion Performers Dance and Drama School, in Billericay, won Best Dance/Performing Arts School For Essex in the Essex Entertainment Awards, held in Grays.

Several students and groups from the school, which teaches children aged one right up to adults, were nominated for prizes.

Principal Laura Burrows said: “It was very hard to be officially nominated but it was narrowed down from hundreds of applications and only around eight to ten in each award category made the nominations.

“Many nominated acts had been on The Voice, the X-Factor or Britain’s Got Talent.

“We are honoured to have received such a prestigious award and would like to thank all the teachers and students that make the school the success it is.”

Girl group Harmonize, from the school, was nominated for Best Vocal Group and a 14-yearold solo singer, known as “Mika K”, was nominated for Best Young Breakthrough Act.
