THE daughter of much-loved former Thurrock mayor Kitty Price, who died last November, has paid tribute to her mother.
June Hales, 67, of Kenwood Road, Stanford-le-Hope said: “She helped so many people in the community and she was asked to stand to be councillor because everyone knew her so well.”
Mrs Price, who lived in Stanford-le-Hope, followed in her husband’s footsteps in serving as a councillor in Thurrock. She was elected mayor to serve during the year 1991/1992.
She leaves a son and a daughter, five grandsons and one granddaughter, eleven great-grandchildren and one great, greatgrandchild.
Mrs Hales said: “My mother was a cheerful bubbly personality, who never let me know if she was upset. She was a lovely mother and loved her work. I miss her so much.”
