A WOODLAND family fun day is shaping up to be the biggest yet in Hockley.

The 12th annual Wild Woods Day in Hockley woods is taking place on May 30, and will feature arts and crafts, a picnic area, live music and a marketplace.

Rochford Council wants businesses, voluntary groups and organisations to sign up to take their place at the event, which thousands of people predicted to turn up.

The councillor responsible for for community events, Jo McPherson, said: “It’s a great opportunity, and I’d advise anyone interested to act fast as there are a limited number of stalls available.”

The event, split up into four zones – a green zone, an active zone, a create and play zone, and a wild zone – wants “green” businesses to take stalls in Hockley woods.

The events themes include reycyling, healthy living, and protecting the environment.

The council would like organisations and groups that produce recycled arts and crafts, promote organic goods, and champion healthy living to sign up.

Prices range between £20- £30, and this includes the market stall and table for the entire day.
