MORE than 1,000 tickets are being sold every week for a West End show in Westcliff.
Around 20,000 tickets have been sold for the 16 performances of Jersey Boys which are showing at the Cliffs Pavilion until February 28, chronicling the rise of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons from their humble beginnings in New Jersey, USA.
Cliffs theatre director Ellen McPhillips said demand had been enormous.
She said: “There isn’t a single performance with less than 1,000 seats sold and many are close to being sold out.
“We obviously knew that the show has been tremendously popular in the West End, but the people of Essex are clearly very excited about it visiting the county.”
The musical is packed with Four Seasons hits including Beggin’, Sherry, Walk Like a Man, December, 1963 (Oh What a Night), Big Girls Don’t Cry, My Eyes Adored You, Let’s Hang On (To What We’ve Got), Bye Bye Baby, Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, Working My Way Back to You, Fallen Angel, Rag Doll and Who Loves You.
The group sold 175million records and were inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame all before the age of 30.
