A SCHOOL glee club benefitted from having friends in high places when a former pupil invited them to perform at the Shard.
Shoeburyness High School’s troupe Shoebury Dynamix Glee was invited to the Ting restaurant at the Shangri-La Hotel in London’s Shard, by former pupil-turned-Shard events organiser Abigail Clark.
Over dizzying heights on the 35th floor, the group of 12 to 18-year-old pupils performed two 20-minute sets of popular songs.
Theatre arts teacher Danielle Hedley-Jameson said the group’s performance went down a treat.
She said: “The manager said he absolutely loved their performances and was told by staff the pupils were amazing.
“It was a great way to end a fantastic term of performances for Shoeburyness High school.”
Shoebury Dynamix Glee was named best chorus in the National Operatic and Dramatic Association’s awards for District Ten of the Eastern Region.
