X FACTOR boyband Overload Generation are “gutted” after being kicked out of the singing competition.

JordiWhitworth, 19, from Canvey, and Ryan Robertson, 18, from Basildon, are among the members of the band, who were the second to be eliminated from this year’s live shows.

Judges Simon Cowell and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini voted to send the boys home for their “shockingly bad” performance in a sing-off with Stephanie Nala.

Despite support from judges Mel B and Louis Walsh, the wildcard entry were shown the door after losing out in the public vote.

Jordi said: “Obviously, I’m gutted and a little bit upset, but we’ve had a setback before and there’s no reason we can’t get up from this one.

We will carry on and fight for what we want.

This isn’t the end of us.”

The band’s current line-up, featuring Jordi, Ryan, Joey, from South Wales, Ollie, from Bristol, and Andy, from Manchester, have only been performing together for three months and were one of four wildcard acts brought back for the live shows after being kicked out at bootcamp.

Jordi said: “We don’t think we were at a disadvantage, but we were the underdogs coming back from bootcamp. Others have more airtime, but everyone in the live shows deserves a place and I wish them all the best of luck.”

After singing Katy Perry’s I Kissed a Girl on Saturday night, the band were criticised for their performance, but mentor Louis Walsh urged them to stay together.

Jordi said: “I thought we performed really well and I didn’t think it was a bad performance. Evenwith the ‘save me’ song, nerves were involved, but I still thought we did well.

“Simon Cowell was harsh to say it was ‘shockingly bad’ but that’s his opinion and we are not going to hold it against him. We just weren’t right for the show.”

“We are just going to crack on as a band and stay together. We are like brothers and we will pull through.”
