Hockey star Chloe Rogers has been showing off her Olympic bronze medal at a parade to honour British athletes.

Hundreds of thousands of people lined the streets of London on Monday, more than 700 Olympic and Paralympic athletes toured the city on board 21 floats.

Former Braintree Hockey Club junior Chloe, 27, from Great Dunmow, tweeted a photo of herself on a float with her Team GB hockey team-mates, with thousands of cheering fans in the background.

She said: “Thank you for everyone who turned out in London today. It’s been incredible!”

Chloe scored the decisive final goal in a 5-3 group win over South Korea as Team GB qualified for the semi-finals.

The team missed out on a chance of a gold medal after losing to Argentina, but beat New Zealand in the bronze medal match.

More than 90 per cent of Britain’s Olympic and Paralympic medallists, including heptathlete Jessica Ennis and wheelchair racer David Weir, took part in the parade.
