Railway staff want hundreds of pounds in additional payments for working during the Olympics.
Greater Anglia workers who are part of the RMT union will vote next Thursday, July 19, on whether to take strike action over bonuses.
The RMT want Greater Anglia staff to receive similar recognition to rail staff working for other train companies.
Southern Trains employees this week voted to accept a basic payment of £300 each, and will receive £28 per day for working on rest days and £40 for working additional late night shifts.
Bob Crow, RMT general secretary, said: “This agreement shines the spotlight on Greater Anglia where the companies are still refusing to play fair.
“We cannot have a situation where some rail staff are being properly rewarded for Olympics working and others are being dealt a slap round the face.”
Greater Anglia operates trains serving all seven stations in Braintree district.
Union bosses have not ruled out striking during the Olympics if members vote in favour of industrial action.
