Students at the district’s largest sixth form were in buoyant mood as they celebrated their A-Level results.
Maldon’s Plume School celebrated its highest ever average points score per student, while its A* to E pass rate fell only fractionally from 98.8 per cent last year to 98.3 per cent.
Half of all entries resulted in A* to B grades and 29.9 per cent were A* or A grades.
Among the high achievers were triplets Joy, Polly and Fleur Young, who racked up one A*, nine As and two Bs between them.
The trio will now go to Southampton University together to study French and Spanish.
