Fitness fans’ Olympic event laps up cash for school

FITNESS fans spent a total of 12 hours working out in an Olympic-themed fundraising event at Gymophobics gym at Colchester’s Hythe .
Members were challenged to take part in circuits of the gym between 8am to 8pm, to raise money for PE equipment at Old Heath Primary School.
Manager Janice Bloomer said Monday’s event raised nearly £1,000.
She added: “We didn’t have one space. Two ladies even did eight circuits. We ache a little but the vibe was brilliant.’’
