Train passengers using Braintree and Witham train stations are among the least satisfied commuters in the country, according to a new survey.

Operating company National Express East Anglia (NXEA), which currently runs trains between London Liverpool Street and Essex, is set to lose its franchise at the end of this week to Dutch firm Abellio.

Only 77 per cent of NXEA customers surveyed thought that the service provided was satisfactory or good.

The study, conducted by watchdog Passenger Focus, asked over 30,000 rail users from across the country for their views on train services.
