FURIOUS parents handcuffed themselves to a children's playground in a desperate bid to stop it being ripped up.
Workmen turned up yesterday morning to dismantle the popular play area in Harpers Way, Clacton.
Residents were told the equipment was being removed for health and safety reasons.
Children chanted "Save our park" as police arrived at the scene.
