A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a knife incident in Colchester.
Police were called to The Square, off Iceni Way, in Shrub End, at about 4am.
A 21-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Colchester General Hospital with knife wounds to his stomach.
Essex Police officers arrested a 26-year-old Colchester man close to the scene on suspicion of attempted murder.
He is currently in police custody.
