A man will appear in court after a police officer was allegedly headbutted and ambulance staff abused while attending an incident.
James Parkes, of Cutting Drive, Halstead, has been charged with assaulting a police officer and three counts of using threatening and abusive behaviour.
It comes after police were called to reports of a man being abusive towards ambulance staff who were treating a woman experiencing breathing difficulties in Cutting Drive at around 11pm on Saturday, June 16.
While trying to defuse the situation, it was reported the police officer was headbutted by a man. The officer did not suffer any injuries.
Mr Parkes, 51, will appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, July 17.
