AN annual hospice fun run in Colchester has been put back because of yellow weather warnings in place this weekend.

St Helena Hospice announced the news on its website to say the Comic Hero Run in Castle Park will now happen in three weeks' time on April 8.

The update read: "If you have already signed up and can't make this date for any reason, please call the fundraising office on 01206 931468 between Monday to Friday or 07584106641 out of hours to discuss your options.

"We apologise for any inconvenience this might cause."

This is the second year of the event which sees runners dressed as super heroes storm Castle Park.

The 1k, 5k and 10k course options help raise money for people living with an incurable illness to live well and die with dignity and choice across the region.
