Regarding traffic congestion - I have absolutely no sympathy for car drivers.

Some of them seem to believe they have a God given right to clog up the roads and damage others with their traffic fumes with impunity and no sense of personal responsibility.

The only way to reduce congestion is to reduce the number of vehicles and since the majority of vehicles are cars, then they should be the focus of congestion reduction measures.

Regarding Firstsite, this is nothing more than a pretentious and egotistical vanity project given planning permission and funding by those who care more about well-funded, well-resourced, mostly-undeserving so-called artists than larger groups of under-resourced, well-deserving residents who need a world-class transport hub at that location.

The majority of residents in Colchester don’t consider the contents of Firstsite to be art.

Just because establishment types tell us it is art, does not mean that we ever have to agree with them.

Regarding homelessness services, I find Colchester Council’s attitude towards the homeless to be abusive, neglectful and cruel.

It passes the buck to organisations who have the front to call themselves mental health housing projects when they are nothing of the sort.

We have charities like Beacon House, Colchester Night Shelter and Open Road who despite having a combined income of just over £4million per annum (Source: Charities Commission) cannot reduce the number of people that require care.

We have Emmaus which is a 21st century version of the Victorian workhouse system whose model requires a constant supply of homeless people.

My message to these budget holders, funding bodies, decision makers, NHS managers, councillors and council managers is: “Get it right or be gone!’’
