AN opera singing painter whose story went worldwide after he saved a church concert will return to the stage.
John Pierce, 34, was working on a job at Maldon United Reformed Church with his father-in-law Jim when he helped out when a planned act fell ill.
After his story appeared in the Standard in September the story went worldwide with John appearing on TV and in newspapers across the UK and abroad.
He will return to the Maldon district when he performs at the Bull Inn in Great Totham next week.
John will sing at the Italian Opera Night on Thursday, November 30.
People can enjoy the sounds and tastes of Italy with singing and a three course meal.
Jim Earls said: βIt has been really exciting and we are hoping something will come of it.β
