Drivers using the A120 are reminded that essential maintenance work on the road will start on Monday, November 20.

Highways England will be completing work including resurfacing, renewing road markings and replacing signage along the road between Marks Farm and Marks Tey until Friday, December 15.

Work will take place on weeknights only, between 9pm and 6am. There may be some working required over the weekends, between 9pm and 6am also.

Some closures on the A120 will be needed to carry out the work safely and a clearly signed diversion will be in place.

Drivers on the eastbound A120 will be directed from the A120 Panners Interchange towards the B1008, then taking the A131 and A130 to the A1016/A130 roundabout.

Following this they will then take the A130 to join the A12 at junction 19 at Chelmsford, then re-join the A120 at Marks Tey.

Drivers travelling westbound will follow the same diversion in reverse.

Access to homes and businesses along the A120 will be maintained at all times, with site staff escorting drivers as needed.

The work is part of a wider package of maintenance work Highways England is delivering across Essex and Suffolk, comprising of 58 schemes worth £22 million.

It will also see work including resurfacing, safety improvements and environmental schemes on the A11, A12 and A14 too, as part of a £61.4 million package of works taking place across the East.
