A CLINICAL commissioning group has unveiled the shortlist for their awards celebrating inspirational people in the care sector.

The Mid Essex CCG’s Marvels of Mid Awards will take place at their annual general meeting on September 28, with the nominations including many Maldon district people and groups.

Karen Randall, Primary Care Matron of the Dengie Medial Partnership is nominated for the Primary Care award, with the patient participation group of Longfield Medical Centre up for the PPG award.

Maldon District Council’s Walking Football programme and Maldon Rugby Club’s Pitch Up and Play Training are both nominated for the Age Well Award.

Action for Family Carers, the Maldon based charity, is nominated for the Die Well Award, with Julie Taylor of St Peter’s Hospital Café up for two awards; Connect Well and Live Well Community Ambassador of the Year.

Caroline Dollery, chair of the CCG, said: “Members of the public are very welcome to join us for our AGM and find out more about our work over the past year and plans for the future.

“We are also really excited to be once again honouring local people - saying thanks for the great work that is being done to support our NHS and community health service.

“We have received a lot of incredibly strong and heart-warming nominations and the finalists for these awards come from all sectors of the community, demonstrating the commitment and enthusiasm local people have to helping others Live Well.”

The public can vote on the community ambassador of the year until September 25.
