YOUNGSTERS have raised hundreds of pounds for Cancer Research UK in honour of their aunt.

Tobi, Mylo and Beau Boler, aged seven, eight and three, held a cake sale at their home in Althorne on Saturday to raise money for Cancer Research.

The children came up with the idea all by themselves after their aunt was diagnosed with the condition this year.

On Friday, the three of them baked the cakes for most of the day, holding the sale on Saturday.

The day saw their Althorne neighbours plus people from Southminster, Burnham, Steeple and Tillingham come out to buy some.

So far, they have raised £250 from cash in their collection tubs on the day, £100 from a cheque by a family friend and £150 on their JustGiving page, totalling more than £500.

Their mother Carlie said: “Our aunt has very recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer and this is the first time in my children's lives that they have been touched by it, and Tobi, off of his own back, asked if he could do things to raise money to help fight cancer.

“I am bursting with pride at how thoughtful and loving they are, and what a lovely thing they’ve done.

“They had such an amazing day bless them, and were totally buzzing after. They are now busy planning their next event - which is set to be a festival style day.”
