POLICE want to identify two men in connection with assaulting a staff member and stealing alcohol from a supermarket in Dovercourt.

It was reported that the men came into a store near Freshfields Road, at around 5pm on Thursday, July 27.

They took two bottles of Famous Grouse whiskey from the shelf and left making no attempt to pay.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "A member of staff followed the men, and tried to grab the whiskey bottles, but then received a blow to the stomach from one of the men’s elbows.

"The woman was hurt, but left with no visible injuries."

One of the men was described as having short black hair and a beard.

He was wearing black tracksuit bottoms, a grey hooded top, white socks and open toed sandals.

The other man was said to have brown hair with long sideburns and was wearing black tracksuit bottoms, a dark grey hoodie, and black trainers.
