THE ribbon has been cut to mark the opening of a redeveloped care home garden.

Lime Court Care Centre, in Lime Avenue, Dovercourt, was visited by Harwich mayor and mayoress John and Carol Brown to celebrate the official occasion on Friday, August 11.

The home’s courtyard has been redeveloped, making it wheelchair accessible with a water feature and herb and vegetable garden.

A Lime Court Care Centre spokesman said: “The sun came out for Lime Court’s official opening of the newly redeveloped courtyard garden on Friday.

“We had the pleasure of the mayor and mayoress of Harwich to cut the ribbon and open the garden.

“It was a lovely party atmosphere with entertainer Michaela Fulleylove singing, followed by a barbecue, wine and nibbles. It was lovely to see so many residents, friends and families both old and new join us at the event.

“The courtyard now has raised bedding areas with wooden seating on top that are wheelchair accessible, a water feature, sensory, herb and vegetable garden along with a grassed area.

“We would like to give a special thank you to the volunteers who helped with this and the kind donations from friends and family which helped to make this happen.”
