A DETERMINED cyclist will be tackling a 46 mile ride around London and Surrey in one day.

Jane Whitman, who grew up in Burnham, will be taking on the Prudential Ride in London, a 46 mile ride within one day on Saturday.

The event begins at QE Stadium (West Ham's new home) and follows half of the Olympic Road Race route to end on the Mall.

It includes at least two hills with urban and forest terrain.

Jane will be raising funds for two charities who have helped her and her family out in her life.

The first is Bloodwise (formerly Leukaemia and Lymphona Research Fund), a blood cancer research charity in memory of her brother Stuart, who had Leukaemia and passed away 30 years ago.

The second is Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), where she spent a week when she was 10-years-old.

Jane said: "I will aways remember the care feeling shown to every child so it's my way of giving a little back so they can continue doing what they do best."

Jane has so far raised more than £200.
