A TROUPE of hell riders headlining as the main act at a family festival are set to get audiences’ hearts racing.

The Ken Fox Hell Riders and their six-metre high wall of death are set to be the main attraction of a weekend-long charity fundraising event held on Harwich Green in Harbour Crescent this weekend.

The Foxs are a stunt family who ride vintage 1920s Indian motorcycles up and around a 20ft high and 32ft wide wall to dazzle crowds.

Made completely from Oregon pine, the wall has been used by the family since 1995 to perform high-speed motorbike stunts on while audiences watch from above.

Troupe leader Ken Fox said: “With our vintage Indian Scout Motorcycles and 20ft high vertical wall it is a show that needs to be seen to be believed.

“All those who see the show will remember it for the rest of their life.

“The noise, the speed, the smell, the proximity of the bikes ridden to the top of the wall, barely six inches from the audience - an experience never to be forgotten.”

The fundraising event will see Harwich Green split into four zones and feature live entertainment throughout, including local bands, entertainers and singers.

There will be food zone with a prosecco bar, a main bar, as well as a hog roast, BBQ, curry cart, coffee bar and candy floss stall.

There will also be a children’s zone with rides and bouncy castles, and a craft zone where local crafters will showcase their creative talents.

The weekend extravaganza has been organised by Andrea King who heads up local fundraising group Harwich Angels.

To stage the event Harwich Angels have raised £5,500 through fundraising and sponsorship from local businesses.

Proceeds made at the event will be split between the charities, MAZE, Sponsor a Sibling, Harwich Food Bank, Bumblebees Disabled Football Team and The Mayoress Appeal.

The event is taking place tomorrow from noon until 10pm and on Sunday, June 25 from noon until 5pm.
