A CROOK fled empty-handed after being spotted trying to burgle a house in Clacton.
The intruder got into the property, in Russell Road, through an unlocked front door but left after being approached.
Nothing was taken.
The suspect is described as white, 5ft 8in tall, aged mid to late 30s, of large build with dark coloured, greying hair. He was wearing a beige jumper.
The incident happened at mid-day on Thursday.
Later that day a wallet was stolen during a burglary in Wash Lane, Clacton, after crooks got in through an unsecure door.
Anyone with information should call Clacton CID on 101.
