A PUBLIC house has suffered fire damage after an outbuilding went up in flames.

Firefighters were called to a fire involving an outbuilding at the rear of a public house in the early hours of this morning.

A fire service spokesman said: "When crews arrived at the property they reported that the building, which contained oil and a gas cylinders, was completely alight and the height of the flames meant that it had started to spread to the main pub building.

"Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire by 2:45am.

"The outbuilding has been destroyed and the roof of the pub and upper floor has suffered fire damage.

"Our investigation into the cause of the fire has been recorded as both accidental and deliberate as possibilities."
