A FORMER poultry business looks set to become a site for storage, maintenance and repair of vehicles.

Plans have been approved by Tendring Council for the site at Newbridge Farm, in Fox Street.

Part of the proposal has already been carried out, and in the past there was an agreed change of use for the agricultural buildings to be used to store vintage cars but it was never implemented.

The new business will employ 19 people at the site with operating hours of 7am to 7pm on Monday to Fridays as well as 7am to 1pm on Saturdays.

The company is also looking to put up three metre high earth bunds along part of the boundary.

Tendring Council decided that the use of the site will be less intensive than when it was a poultry farm with employed 34 people at its peak.

There were no comments received from Ardleigh Parish Council.
