Try some brandy

PEOPLE can attend wine and brandy tasting days in Althorne.

Clayhill Vineyard on Lower Burnham Road will be holding tasting days where people can try their still and sparkling wines and Essex brandy on their final tasting weekend of the season.

The days take place on Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 4pm.

Quiz at school

A QUIZ night will be held in Little Totham on Saturday.

The Swan on School Road will be holding its monthly quiz night, with this year’s fees for entry going towards buying a defibrillator for the village.

The quiz will begin at 8pm and people are invited to go along in teams or alone.

Jazz club’s night

A JAZZ night will take place in Wickham Bishops on Saturday.

The Club of Jazz will be held a Wickham Bishops Village Hall, with this week’s entertainment being the Alan Gresty Jazz Band with a special guest from across the pond in the USA Pete Neighbour.

Admission is £12.50. The show is at 7.30pm at the hall on Church Road on Saturday.

Madness tribute

A TRIBUTE band are playing in Maldon on Saturday.

The Las Palmas 7, a tribute to Madness, will play at the Plume School on Fambridge Road.

The concert will be held in the school hall, with a limited amount of seating as well as standing tickets, with a bar and food available and free parking.

The concert begins on Saturday at 7.30pm.

Alzheimer’s clinic

A DROP IN clinic will be available in Burnham next week.

The Alzheimer’s Society Drop-In Information Clinic will be held at Burnham Library on Tuesday, which will provide information and support for those who are affected by issues surrounding Alzheimer’s and how it will affect those and their families and friends.

The drop-in is from 2pm to 3.45pm on Tuesday at Burnham Library on Station Road.
