A HAUL of illegal drugs equipment was seized by police during a raid in Colchester.
Officers from Essex Police’s Community Policing Team and Force Support Unit swooped on the property in Leam Close, Greenstead, at 9am today.
They had been acting on intelligence drugs were being grown at the property in the quiet residential cul-de-sac.
A 14-second video posted on Essex Police’s Facebook page showed an officer smash the door with a handheld battering ram and officers enter.
No one was inside.
However, police confirmed hydroponic equipment, typically used for growing plants such as cannabis indoors, and drug paraphernalia were seized.
A spokesman said they could not provide further details of the items found or quantity.
No other properties were raided as part of the operation yesterday.
The police spokesman said: “Enquiries to contact those living at the address are ongoing.”
PC Shaun Hammond said: “Warrant executions like these show we will not tolerate those who supply and produce drugs in our communities. “
To report suspected drugs activity, call Essex Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
