TRANSPORT police want to track down this man in connection with an assault on a disabled passenger on a train between London Liverpool Street and Colchester.

A 40-year-old man was on the 12.40am train on May 24 when the incident took place.

He was using the toilet but while he was there, another man tried to push the door open.

Although the victim told him the toilet was occupied, the man continued to push the door and use abusive language.

When the victim came out of the toilet, the man continued to swear at him and then pushed him over.

He refused to let him stand up again and slapped him in the face.

PC Daniel Huggins, British Transport Police investigating officer, said: “This assault left the victim with pain in his hip and meant he is now very anxious about using public transport.

"He was unable to fight back due to the fact he is registered disabled.

“Abusive behaviour like this is completely unacceptable and so we are working tirelessly to find the offender and get justice for the victim.

“We would like to speak to the man in this image as we think he has valuable information which could help the investigation.

“If you recognise him, or have any information which you think could help, please contact us immediately.”

Anyone with information should contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, quoting 287 of 21/7.
