BRAZEN litterbugs have dumped piles of waste under a sign reading: “No fly tipping”.

They have dumped everything from mattresses and sofas in the bin storage area near Natasha Aylieff-Baxter’s home on Timber Hill, Colchester.

Sometimes refuse collectors have been unable to take the bin bags away because the area is overflowing with the wrong sort of rubbish.

Now the giant stack of rubbish has begun to attract rats.

Natasha says she is unable to open the windows in her home because of the foul smell.

She has contacted landlords Colne Housing about the problem. The housing association has promised to try and ensure it is taken away.

Natasha, who lives with son Louie, three, and her partner, said: “It is awful and the hot weather is making things even worse.

“Things are so bad I cannot even have the windows open anywhere and especially not in the kitchen which is the closest room.

“I have absolutely no idea who is putting it there, I don’t ever seem them come or go but it is happening all the time.

“Sometimes the council refuses to collect it because of how much of a mess it is.

“It happens so regularly - pretty much all of the time but just recently is the first time I have seen a rat .

“Mould is starting to grow in my home and Colne Housing says it is because I don’t open my windows but I just can’t because of how bad it is.

Nathasha’s grandmother Doreen Aylieff visited from London and could not believe the state of the place.

She said: “It has never been this bad before - something has got to be done to stop it.

“It is not healthy for anyone living there and they have to take responsibility.”

Colne Housing did not provide a response.
