A REWARD of up to £10,000 has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a killer.

The charity Crimestoppers is offering the reward one year after Chris May's disappearance from his father's home in Coggeshall.

Mr May, 28, disappeared from his father's home on the morning of May 25 last year and his disappearance is now being treated as a murder investigation, despite no body having been found.

The reward will be only be given if information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible is handed to Crimestoppers directly, not through Essex Police.

Antonia Litten, Crimestoppers' eastern regional manager, said: "A man of 28 should not have had his life taken away, Christopher still had so many years ahead of him.

"The effect on his family has been devastating and they are desperate for answers, which is why I would ask anyone with information to contact Crimestoppers anonymously.

"We don’t ask for any personal details, you won’t have to speak to the police and you won’t have to go to court. Just tell us what you know, not who you are."
