CHILDREN bounced their way into half-term at a primary school's inflatables day.

Brinkley Grove Primary School, on Rawlings Crescent, Colchester, hosted the fun day.

The event was open to children of all ages, including pupils of Brinkley Grove and other schools.

Kyra's Castles, of Colchester, supplied the inflatables and manned the equipment.

There was a barbecue, music, refreshments including candyfloss, as well as fairground stalls and a test-your-strength challenge.

Sue Young, organiser of the day, said: “The weather was lovely. We were a bit worried about if it rained, so we were grateful when it didn’t.

“Parents said it was lovely sitting down and talking to other parents while their kids played where they could still see what they were doing.

“Everyone was so polite including the children - the kids were a great advert for the school.”

The inflatables included bouncy castles and slides, the most popular being dubbed the ‘Mega Slide’.

All proceeds that were collected will go towards new equipment for the school, although it is not yet known exactly how much was raised.

Mrs Young said: “It went really well and we had good feedback from parents which was nice.

“We would like to say thank you to everyone that supported the school by coming along.”
