VILLAGE hall bosses have handed CCTV footage over to police and banned future teen parties after a birthday bash descended into chaos.

Hundreds of youngsters gatecrashed a party at Weeley Village Hall on April 22 after details of the event were released on social media.

Police were eventually called out to the party after a series of violent incidents – including one man suffering a broken jaw in an attack.

CCTV footage from the event has now been given to officers after it was requested as part of the investigation.

Peter Dumsday, parish council chairman and acting chairman of Weeley Village Hall committee, said: “I have supplied video coverage to police which covered the estimated time of the incidents.

“They were pleased with the quality and I have made available more coverage to help the investigation.

“Members of the committee have tried to accommodate all applicants for the use of the hall but it has now been decided, because of this and previous problems, that no bookings for teenage parties would be accepted at least for the time being.

“The committee will keep this decision under review.”
