MAIN Road in Danbury was closed last night after a collision between an ambulance and a pedestrian.
The incident happened at around 5.15pm yesterday and when the ambulance had been on an emergency call.
An ambulance crew, ambulance officer and East Anglian Air Ambulance attended and treated a man who had suffered serious injuries.
He was airlifted to St Georges Hospital in Tooting in a critical condition.
