THE SIGHTS and smells of Christmas came to Colchester with a traditional festive fair.
High Street was closed to traffic for the event, which saw stalls take over the road filled with gifts and treats.
Mulled wine, real ale and a variety of festive food were served alongside fairground rides for the children.
And for a touch of the unusual, Colchester's mayor, Theresa Higgins, hurled buns from the Town Hall balcony in an event tradition, with some lucky catchers getting a prize bun and winning £5.
