TRIBUTES have been paid after a man from Colchester died in a car crash.

Police are appealing for information after John Hobson, 65, of Mill Road, crashed his blue Skoda on the A134 in Assington on Tuesday.

His partner, Debbie, in a message to her beloved, said: "The six years we had together were the best and happiest in my life."

"You were my one true love, forever.

I love you so very, very much."

She added: "With John by my side I was whole, he was part of me.

"We always used to say ‘if we could bottle what we had, we would be millionaires.’

"I am truly devastated and life will be empty without John by my side."

The father-of-one was brought up and raised in London before living in various parts of Essex.

He worked for Marconi in Chelsmford for several years.

He gained his teaching qualifactions and taught maths and electronics working at JTL Apprenticeshops for 18 years as a internal verifier and electrical training officer.

He recently moved on to do the same role at Chelmsford College.

Debbie said: "When times were hard John would work more than one job at a time to make ends meet.

“John was a hardworking, kind, loving, understanding individual, who always went the extra mile to help others.

"He was a fan of Colchester United and enjoyed his hi-fi and music."

He leaves behind his partner Debbie, son James, mother Sylvia and his brother Mark.

Police were called at 10.10pm.

The Air Ambulance, Suffolk Fire and Rescue and a volunteer critical care paramedic from the Suffolk Accident Rescue Service attended the scene,

A spokesman for Sars said: "“Despite the efforts of all the emergency personnel at the scene, the man later died from his injuries."

Any witnesses to the collision are asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team at Suffolk Police on 101 quoting CAD 392 of 24.11.15.
