THE A120 has been reopened following a collision between two lorries this morning.
Police and paramedics were called to the A120 near Ardleigh at about 7am today after the crash on the eastbound carriageway between Ardleigh and Hare Green on the eastbound carriageway.
Two lorries were involved and the A120 was closed at the Ardleigh Crown interchange.
Those involved are believed to have suffered minor injuries.
Long queues of traffic built up on the slip roads off the A12 in the area.
There were also traffic problems on the Avenue of Remembrance and Lexden Road with congestion building through Colchester as drivers seek alternative routes.
The road has now reopened although traffic remains slow moving on the northbound road of the A12 between J28 at the football stadium and Junction 29 at the Ardleigh Crown.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Police are at the scene of crash involving two lorries on the A120 in Ardleigh.
"Officers were contacted to reports one lorry was in collision with a stationary lorry on the Harwich-bound carriageway."
