A LIFELIKE Tyrannosaurus Rex thrilled schoolchildren when it roared its way into their primary school.
The 7ft-long animatronic beast snarled its way around the playground at Myland Primary School, Colchester, on a visit to help bring the youngsters’ studies to life.
Jennifer Dandy, assistant headteacher, said: “It was wonderful for them to see it brought to life.
“All the children loved it. It was a wonderful learning experience.”
The visit to the school was organised because its four and five-year-olds have been learning about dinosaurs this term.
Work has included learning something about what it is like to be a paleontologist.
The visit, kept a secret from parents and pupils until the actual day, also gave children the chance to dig for fossils and meet Jack the baby dinosaur during assembly.
