CHARITABLE bowlers took to the green for an annual fundraising match.
Thorpe Bowling Club raised a whopping £1,750 by hosting the Dennyside Bowling Association for a special match-up on Monday.
The Dennyside club was set up in the 1930s to raise cash for nominated good causes.
It is a travelling team, made up of bowlers from across the south of England, which tours the country each year to play charity matches.
Dennyside Bowling Association has visited Thorpe for 29 years in a row now, raising a grand charity total topping £35,000 over that time.
Cash will be donated to Clacton and District Occupational Workshop Society.
The centre, based in Old Road, helps adults with mental or physical disabilities in the area.
Thorpe Bowling Club president Ron Marrable said the day had been another great success and thanked everyone who took part.
