A FRINTON bookshop organised a series of crowd-pulling events to celebrate Independent Bookshop Week.
Caxton Books, in Connaught Avenue, set up a string of events to mark the occasion – designed to encourage more people to visit and celebrate independent bookshops.
The week included an author event, a children’s tiger hunt, competitions, story sessions and a garden party.
One of the top draws was the visit of award-winning author Emma Healey, whose first novel Elizabeth is Missing has been a major hit.
She spoke to a sold-out crowd at a special event at Piatto’s Delicatessen, also in Connaught Avenue.
Other events and prize draws were held at Caxton Books for keen readers of all ages, while the week ended with a bang at the second annual Book Club Summer Garden Party.
The party also gave four up-and-coming authors the chance to promote their new books at a fun-filled evening in the sun.
Caxton Books co-owners Sally Johnson and Judith Charlesworth said the week of events had been a major success and a great way of giving back to the bookshop’s customers and supporters.
