THREE people have been arrested on suspicion of robbery after a man was attacked in Jaywick.

The victim was approached and assaulted by two men and a woman in broad daylight in Jaywick Lane.

His attackers also grabbed the man's rucksack, which contained a four figure sum of cash, before fleeing.

They jumped into a silver Vauxhall Corsa and drove away.

The victim was left with bruising to his upper body and the incident was reported to the police.

It happened at about 10.30am on Monday.

Police officers were called to the scene and arrested three people in nearby Meadow Way.

A 21-year-old man, a 23-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman, all from Jaywick, were arrested on suspicion of robbery.

They have been released on bail until September 2 while police investigate.
