A CHILDREN’S nursery has unveiled its new £120,000 extension by staging a teddy bears picnic open day.
Little Stars Nursery, at White Hall Academy, in Clacton, got the funding because there were not enough nursery places for two-year-olds in the town.
It scooped £60,000, which was then doubled by academy bosses.
The extension includes a new playroom, wet room and toddler-friendly furniture, and means the nursery can now take another 32 youngsters.
The nursery is also getting all-weather blinds for its outdoor classroom.
Nursery head Alison Cole said: “Hopefully, it is going to be a really good community facility because we also run a creche here.
“Everyone can come along and get something out of it.”
