STUDENTS got to see their creations on the catwalk at their end of year fashion show.

Colchester Institute students from the BA fashion and textiles degree course exhibited their designs at Firstsite.

First year students’ designs were inspired by the architecture of Firstsite, the second year students created flattering garments for the over fifties and the third year students showed off their final designs.

Course leader Val Jacobs said the show provided students with the opportunity to present their garments to contacts within the fashion industry.

She said: “This showwas an exciting opportunity for students to come together and celebrate their achievements throughout the year.

“This was the first time for some students to have the opportunity to style their models and show to a wider audience, including industry contacts and alumni student mentors.”

Third year fashion and textiles student Ellie Dolan- Roberts said: “It’s been a really exciting and valuable experience, where the practical work experience we have learned has opened us up to what it’s like to work in fashion in the real world.”
