A MAN with autism has launched his own scheme to make others aware of the condition.

Rolo Muir, from Lexden, was diagnosed with the condition three years ago after spending years not knowing what was wrong.

He has now used his own money to buy a mini-bus, which he wants to deck out and take to businesses across Colchester.

Rolo, 49, said: “I am better dealing with my condition now I knowwhat I have got.

“But I went through some tough times. I lost jobs because people couldn’t understand what was wrong.

“Understanding in the workplace really is important and needs to be worked on. I am hoping to do that by visiting companies to make them more aware of the condition.”

Rolo has had support from Autism Anglia since his diagnosis and he now in turn wants to help others.

Rolo has set up a website to collect money to help him pay for the mini-bus and set up the scheme. He is hoping to raise £3,500.
