Fears have been raised trains could bypass Burnham railway station in favour of Southminster.
A Network Rail consultation over long-term proposals for the east of England rail network included two proposals for the Wickford to Southminster line.
One was to put an additional platform at Southminster and increase the number of trains per hour between Southminster and Wickford to two.
There would be one fast train, but this would only call at Southminster, Fambridge and Wickford, while a slow train would call at all stations.
Burnham currently has a train service into London roughly every 40 minutes.
A second option suggested introducing two trains per hour at all Southminster to Wickford stations, including Burnham, made possible by additional rail loops between Fambridge and Southminster and between Fambridge and Wickford.
