VULNERABLE residents have been removed from a Clacton care home after a damning report by watchdogs revealed a catalogue of failings.
A probe was launched by the Care Quality Commission after fears that residents were at risk at Brookfield care home, in Hayes Road.
The watchdog staged a spot inspection, which uncovered problems in every area it looked into.
Inspectors ordered the home to improve.
But Essex County Council has now axed its contract with Brookfield “with immediate effect” after bosses failed to bring the home up to standard.
Council-funded residents have been removed and put in other homes.
