CONTROVERSIAL new homes are set to be built in Bradfield.
Bennett Homes has been given permission to build nine quality properties in Barrack Street, and refurbish an existing cottage on the road. The proposal involves knocking down outbuildings on the site and providing new access and parking.
Tendring Council’s planning committee deferred the decision in September for further discussion on how the scheme would affect a new footpath planned for the village, and over concerns trees would be lost.
However, the council’s tree and landscape officer confirmed none of the three trees were worthy of preserving and the footpath issue was a matter between the parish and Essex highways.
Bradfield Parish Council had objected to the plans on a number of grounds.
