BLUEPRINTS for nine new homes in Kirby Cross have been given the green light.

Hazelwood UK has been given permission to put up the detached dwellings with garages and parking on land at The Sheltons.

Tendring Council’s planning committee agreed outline permission for the scheme, but want final details to come back to the committee for approval.

The members asked the applicant to give consideration to the position of the access road to the development to take into account the road alignment and a home immediately opposite.

The committee also asked for the applicant to give thought to the inclusion of a play space in the final scheme.

The application was opposed by Frinton and Walton Town Council and Kirby Residents’ Association, and Tendring Council also received 15 letters of objection.

Council officers recommended approval, despite the site being outside the development boundary, because the proposed scheme was a sustainable development.
